Jump for rope! The sailor’s knot symbolizes a perfect marriage between form and function.  Crafty mariners not only used essential roping skills to safely set sail, they also made bracelets to show off their skills. These handcrafted wares were believed to bring good fortune, and were often given as gifts to their sweethearts upon returning to port.  Seafaring style is making major waves this season, with designers like Mara Hoffman and Holst + Lee adding a twist on tradition by layering in bright pops of color and statement hardware.  Tie one on with this DIY that will have you shouting Crafts Ahoy!To create, cut pieces of colorful rope into 1-yard. Gather both pieces, fold in half and create a flat knot in the center.   Add 2 flat knots on either side of the middle knot.  Infuse a pop color with Duck Tape (P.S.- we love NEON!) by wrapping small pieces between each knot.  Add additional Duck Tape accents as you finish off the necklace.  Also use to keep the rope’s ends from fraying.  Secure with a slip knot on the end and you’re ready to set sail in style!  P.S.- Learn how to tie all sorts of rad knots HERE!
